Aquascape 98562 Heavy Duty Pond Skimmer Net with Extendable Handle

The pole is definitely heavy duty and I expect it will last for many years, but I still consider it light weight even if it is heavier than some other options out there. Who knows for certain how durable a new item is, but it does seem likely to last longer than the last net because the net is made of a durable, small woven mesh that I’m guessing will be less likely to catch on a rock. I was initially thinking about returning it because I was skeptical the more shallow net pocket would be safe to catch fish. Yesterday I caught 10-12 goldfish (3″-6″) in less than 10mins with someone using my old net to make it harder for them to get away. I think it will be fine with my larger 12″ fish. Completely happy with the purchase.A couple warning notes: if you have shoulder or wrist issues and you find skimming difficult I’m guessing this one will be a little harder than some others because the mesh is smaller and requires more force to get through the water quickly when chasing fish. If I had larger fish like koi, the depth of the net would still be a concern. [...]
